There are many ways to engage with K9 Water Leak Detection University™. Our two primary programs help build a certified team through our educational programming or put a ready-to-work team in the field with a trained dog from us. No matter how we partner, all paths lead toward the same goal: a professional canine water leak detection team certified through the K9 Pipeline Detection Association.
Enroll in the University
Water leak detection isn't one skill, and not every learner arrives at it from the same place. That's why K9 Water Leak Detection University has partnered with K9Sensus's Detection Dog Trainer program to meet handlers where they are, through different targeted pathways.
Every pathway is delivered after enrollment with the University and based on the experience you bring to the table.
K9Sensus and K9WLDU partner to achieve the same goal: prepare you for the Operational Readiness Training & Evaluation.
Build the skills, then
prove them in the field.
Our educational programming takes the handler and canine from remote coursework to live, in-person evaluation on real-world leak fields.
This includes an online training portal, coursework, video submissions, and preparation you can start from anywhere.
Operational Readiness Training & Evaluation (ORTE), our five-day, in-person capstone: field instruction, real leak field scenarios, and a live evaluation run under real testing conditions.

Come meet our team and learn how canine detection meets utility expertise to provide water professionals with another tool in the search for difficult-to-locate water loss.
We’ll be sharing real-world field experiences, discussing how canine-assisted detection can complement traditional leak detection methods, and introducing the growing training, certification, and professional standards behind
